Temaril-P is a medication used to treat itching and coughing in dogs. It contains an antihistamine called Trimeprazine and a corticosteroid called Prednisolone. Thanks to its active ingredients, the medication works in two ways. Trimeprazine counteracts histamine, a chemical that causes itchiness and inflammation during an allergic reaction. Prednisolone acts like cortisol, a naturally occurring hormone that blocks inflammatory response.

Uses and Benefits

Temaril-P is used to treat a variety of conditions, including kennel cough, bronchitis, and skin disorders. It may also be prescribed alongside antibiotics or chemotherapy. The medication is easy to administer and comes in tablet form.

Dosage

Recommended dosages of Temaril-P will vary, depending on factors such as your pet’s body weight and the severity of their condition. Always administer Temaril-P as prescribed, and complete the course of medication unless otherwise instructed by your veterinarian.

If you miss a dose, administer it as soon as you remember. However, please disregard the missed dose if it’s close to the next dose. Never give your pet a double dose of Temaril-P, as this can be detrimental to their health. If you suspect your pet has had an overdose, contact your veterinarian immediately. Signs of Temaril-P toxicity include excessive drowsiness and seizures.

Although Temaril-P is generally well tolerated, it may cause side effects in some animals. Please visit your veterinarian immediately if your pet displays any of the following symptoms.
