Carey

Hospital Administrator

Carey has been a member of the LazyPaw team since moving to Texas in April 2013 from Southern California. She joined LazyPaw as an assistant, but was quickly promoted to Lead Veterinary Technician where she was responsible for running anesthesia, caring for hospitalized patients, and training new members of the technical staff. She received her degree in Veterinary Technology in November 2015 and, after passing both the National and State Board Exams, became a Licensed Veterinary Technician in January 2016. In 2018 Carey added Certified Veterinary Practice Manager to her list of accomplishments. Carey and her husband have two rescue dogs at home – a Malamute named Tana (named after a New Zealand rugby player) and a Lab Mix named Rita.

Becca

Manager

Becca is the most senior member of the LazyPaw team having joined in November 2011. She is our Chief Client Coordinator and has been serving as a Practice Manager where she is responsible for client satisfaction, maintaining the clinical schedule, and training new staff members among many other responsibilities. After attending Central Michigan University, she moved through Montana and Wyoming before settling in Frisco. Becca will be adding to her list of accomplishments by completing all the necessary requirements to become a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager in 2019. She has two Dogue de Bordeauxes (French Mastiffs) at home named Hera and Padme.

Shelby

Veterinary Technician

Certified Veterinary Assistant Shelby is from Dallas and is an anchor of the technical team for over 3 years. Her off hours are spent reading, playing story driven video games and entertaining her two vivacious felines, Sawyer and Olive. Her favorite part about working at LazyPaw is the opportunity to sharpen her skills while learning new ones. She is currently studying for the Certified Veterinary Assistant Level III examination. Thank you Shelby for your ongoing commitment to lifelong learning and your dedication to your furry charges and their families!

Lindsey

Veterinary Assistant

Please say hello to Certified Veterinary Assistant (CVA) Lindsey! Originally from Kansas City, MO, she has made Texas her home. A keystone of the LazyPaw Technical Team, she loves the great outdoors especially when exploring with her family including her handsome canine companions: Augi and Big Boy!

Lindsey says her favorite aspects of her job are diagnostics and that every day is different, bringing new challenges and successes in patient and client care! She also has an amazing, hidden talent: She can whistle like a cricket! It is so cool. In addition to her many clinical work, Lindsey is currently preparing to take the CVA II exam.

Brianna

Client Coordinator

Bri shares her home with her husband, 3 dogs—Henry, Hondo & Kenobi—and 4 cats—Lemur, Ahsoka, Smaxx & Frank! She loves traveling, caring for her many houseplants (she’s got a true green thumb), listening to music, and curling up with a good book. Her favorite part of working in vet med is getting to know both the pets and their humans.

Karli

Veterinary Technician

Meet Karli! A Veterinary Tech at LazyPaw. She says the favorite part of her job is bonding with her patients and their families. Have a favorite pasta recipe? Please share it because not only is she a fan, she’s also a tremendous cook!

Karli shares her home with two active dogs, Bear and Rex, who definitely increase the energy and challenge level of her aerial yoga practice. Her other hobbies include soccer, horseback riding and reading. She reports her favorite place she’s visited thus far is Yellowstone. Finally, Karli has the spookiest real life ghost story.

Audrey

Client Coordinator

Meet Audrey, Texas native from neighboring Grapevine, she is one of our newest Client Coordinators! She has the sweetest border collie/aussie mix named Hollie, a true working dog and devoted canine companion.

Audrey enjoys a good read and volunteering her time in support of her community in addition to meditative yoga practice in her spare time. Her favorite part about LazyPaw: She feels like everyone on the team is like family, and of course the puppies

Kailee

Veterinary Assistant

Kailee is a Frisco native and has become an important member of our team. Her long term goal is to become a veterinarian! A former collegiate soccer player, Kailee is a tremendous athlete who loves adventure and sharing her home with 3 active dogs and a cat. She says her favorite part about working at LazyPaw is gaining on the job experience she will be able to put to good use in her future career! Kailee is currently working towards her veterinary assistant certification while preparing for application to veterinary medical school.

Michelle

Veterinary Technician

Michelle Peachey has worked in the Veterinary field as a Technician for the past 10 years while going to school. She graduated from University of North Texas in 2009 with a Bachelors in Biochemistry. She has a passion for horses and for Boston Terriers of which she owns two, Elle Mae and Jethro.

Melanie

Veterinary Technician

Melanie began working at LazyPaw as a veterinary assistant in January 2016. Since then, Melanie has become certified as a Level I and II Veterinary Assistant through the Texas Veterinary Medical Association. She plans to continue her certification through Level III, the highest achievement as a veterinary assistant before becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Furthermore, Melanie is also a Fear Free Professional. She works specifically with pets that are more nervous and fearful of coming to the vet to make sure they have a positive, comfortable, and rewarding experience. On top of her certified achievements, Melanie is also fluent in Spanish and American Sign Language. She has two dogs of her own – a Husky named Luna and a Border Collie Mix named Oreo.

Allie

Veterinary Assistant

Allie began working at LazyPaw as a veterinary assistant in May 2017. A graduate of Baylor University, she earned her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in 2017 in Biology. Her academic achievements at Baylor include both the Dean’s List and she served as Vice President of the Pre-Veterinary Medicine Society. She has earned her certification as a Level I Veterinary Assistant through the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and will be beginning her Level II certification in 2018. Allie is currently applying to veterinary school with the goals of becoming a licensed veterinary ophthalmologist and practice owner. She shares her home with Mia Bella, her Pomeranian.

Sarah

Veterinary Technician

Sarah is a certified veterinary assistant who has been with Lazypaw since April of 2019. She graduated with honors from Tarleton State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and a minor in Biology. She is currently working towards achieving her Certified Veterinary Assistant level II certification. Her favorite pastimes are reading and taking goofy pictures with her dog, Benson. Sarah loves working with similarly dedicated men and women to the cause of your pet’s health and safety, and she dreams of fulfilling her desire for strengthening relationships between animals and their owners.

Angela

Veterinary Technician

Angela is originally from Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and has been living in Texas for over 14 years. She graduated Cum Laude with her Bachelors in Biology and Minor in Chemistry from Texas Woman’s University (TWU) in 2019, and continues to do post baccalaureate research with TWU. She joined the LazyPaw team due to her interest in veterinary medicine and has since become a Certified Veterinary Assistant (CVA). In her free time she loves spending time outdoors, playing tennis, listening to music, and snuggling her canine companion, Oliver.

Tabitha

Veterinary Technician

Tabitha has been in the veterinary field for three years and is a CVA1 with a special talent for feline phlebotomy. She also holds an associate’s degree in psychology. At home, she has two dogs, Titan and Sasha, and a cat named Nimbus. Outside of work, she loves baking sweets. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is that every day brings something new—challenging her to learn, grow, and, of course, cuddle puppies and kittens.

Zacaria

Veterinary Assistant

Zacaria graduated cum laude from Southern University A&M College in Baton Rouge with a bachelor’s in Animal Science. She’s a proud dog mom to Bean, her 7-year-old diva pup. In her free time, she enjoys writing and spending time with family and friends. Her favorite part of working in veterinary medicine is adapting to new situations with compassion and professionalism.

Julia

Office Manager

Julia is a CVA3 and was the first client coordinator at LazyPaw to earn this certification. She is currently preparing for her Certified Veterinary Office Manager exam. Originally from Ohio, Julia moved to Texas in 2021 with her husband Ian and daughter Cosima, and together they adopted two cats, Gwen and Stacy. She enjoys reading, crocheting, movies, and board games. Julia loves building relationships with pets and their families while learning something new from the doctors every day.

Malia

Veterinary Assistant

Malia is a CVA1 and is currently pursuing her degree in science, maintaining a 4.0 GPA and earning membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She has a rabbit named Opal Rose and a cocker spaniel named Redbeard. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, gaming with family, and attending renaissance fairs. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is helping animals, learning daily, and being part of a caring, knowledgeable team.

Victoria

Client Coordinator

Victoria is studying at Penn Foster to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician and proudly claims the title of “Funniest Person at LazyPaw.” She has two cats, Salem and Frankie, and a dog named Bones, all named with her love of Halloween in mind. She enjoys meeting patients of all sizes and learning new things every day, finding joy in every opportunity to help out.

Melissa

Veterinary Technician

Melissa is Fear Free Certified and has advanced training in Emergency, Critical Care, and ICU work. She loves traveling, trying new restaurants, watching movies, and cooking new recipes. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is advocating for patients, helping them heal, and continuing to learn every day.

Valerie

Senior Client Coordinator

Valerie is a CVA2 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology degree from TWU. She was born and raised in Irving and enjoys spending time with her husband Edward and their two dogs, Brownie and Blue. She loves reading and learning new things. Valerie’s favorite part of working in veterinary medicine is spending time with the patients while finding new ways to better assist both owners and pets.

Sarah

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 2018 and became a Licensed Veterinary Technician in March 2025. She enjoys video games, board games, and card games with friends and family. Her dog, Benson, is her constant companion—even if he hogs the blankets. Sarah loves working in a field that combines community education and health while building lasting friendships with her colleagues, who she feels are like family.

Rosie

Veterinary Assistant

Rosie earned her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a focus in Animal Wildlife Veterinary Technology and brings that passion for animals into her daily work. She loves being part of a team that shares her dedication to helping pets and their families. Outside of the clinic, Rosie enjoys going to concerts, snacking on prickly pears, and spending time with her four dogs of all different sizes.
