Coming Soon on October 20, 2017
Calvin Bledsoe Elementary School, one of the jewels of Frisco’s Independent School District (FISD), is once again gearing up to get children and their family members excited about reading. Their multi-tiered approach includes not only student, parent and teacher involvement but also the support of its community through the recruitment of numerous volunteers. In addition to the PTA, members of their nationally recognized Watchdog Dads group, FISD Middle and High School students, a “Literacy League” comprised of local community leaders will be taking time out of their work day to share their passion for reading and their favorite Wild West themed stories. League members will be reading to elementary students on the opening day of the annual book fair. LazyPaw Animal Hospitals is thrilled to have once again scored an invitation to this year’s event to support Calvin Bledsoe Elementary and FISD schools’ unwavering commitment to literacy. In addition to reading, LazyPaw Animal Hospitals will be purchasing books from each teacher’s Scholastic wish list to help fill their classroom libraries!
In 2014 Bledsoe Elementary School won Scholastic’s national book fair contest’s grand prize of $2000.00 in Scholastic Dollars for additional book purchases to build classroom libraries, and they want to make this year’s event even bigger and better than years’ past. If you are unable to participate in this year’s event but still want to show your support.
Please contact Nicole Leary, Book Fair Chairperson, at 847-571-6429, or email Bookfair@BledsoePTA.org to find out what you can do to help. This year’s book drive is supporting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County.
We know you only want the best for our community. So do we.
