This time of year, more than any other I am struck by the words I heard many years ago, which still resonate with me today: “Your society values people based on how much you have, ours in how much you give away.” At LazyPaw Animal Hospitals we strive to deliver the best possible care and customer service to our friends, neighbors and their furry family members all year round, but this time of year seems to be when we are able to make our biggest positive impact. As a veterinary clinic we don’t really have a physical product or a promotional item to contribute because what we do have to offer is less tangible but perhaps more valuable than the latest gadget or doodad: our knowledge, our experience and our time. Every year we are privileged to be asked to speak at several Frisco Independent School District schools for their annual career day programs, and this year we were able to accommodate speaking requests at Fowler Middle School, Wester Middle School, and Stafford Middle School.
This time of year tends to be one of reflection for many of us as we reminisce about holidays of old and loved ones far flung and departed. Many, many of us also reflect upon the gifts we’ve been given, opportunities we’ve had and we look for ways to give back to others.
