We are fortunate enough to be graduating two wonderful high school seniors this year. Matille and Alexis have been a vital part of the LazyPaw team as seniors. We want to congratulate them and recognize their accomplishments as well as their professional goals.
Matille Drury
Matille is a 2017 graduate of Centennial High School. She started working with LazyPaw Animal Hospitals as a student last year through the veterinary medicine class at CHS to earn her Certification as a Veterinary Assistant. She was active in track and FFA as a student. Her FFA team even attended the State Competition for horse judging this past year. She has been awarded scholarships for track and through Clark Middle School.
Matille will be attending Oklahoma State University this fall. She has been accepted into the Honor’s College with a major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a pre-veterinary focus. She plans on becoming an active member of the Pre-Veterinary Medicine Club and applying to Oklahoma State’s College for Veterinary Health Sciences to become an equine or mixed animal practitioner.
In her spare time, Matille volunteers at the Red River County Humane Society where she takes care of the adoptable pets and prepares them for their new homes. She has two pets of her own – Misty, an Australian Shepherd, and Mango, an orange tabby cat.
Alexis Duda
Alexis is a 2017 graduate of Frisco High School. She has been working for LazyPaw Animal Hospitals since spring 2016 as a high school intern and then as a veterinary assistant. She has participated in the Independent Study & Mentorship Program for the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 school year with Dr. Hunter as her mentor. She was active in FHS’s Student Council and served as a committee chair for a year. She was a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, National Society for High School Scholars, and Best Buddies. She’s received awards for her Advanced Placement classes in 2016 and 2017, as well as scholarships through the Frisco Education Foundation, Oklahoma State University, and OSU’s Alumni Association.
Alexis will be attending Oklahoma State University next year where she will be majoring in Business Management with a pre-veterinary focus with the hopes of attending Oklahoma State’s College for Veterinary Health Sciences. She is interested in small animal practice. She plans on rushing a sorority and volunteering her time in Stillwater while in school.
Alexis has several pets at home – Sugar-Pie, a cocker spaniel, two cats, Elmo and Tommy, and a parakeet named Sunny.
Congratulations, seniors! We at LazyPaw Animal Hospitals are very proud of the work you’ve accomplished and goals you’ve set for yourselves. Thank you for your dedication to our patients and team. We wish you the best of luck in the future!
